In order to configure the Verosa terminal for processing, you will need to perform two steps: Configure the Comm Type and Assign an IP Address.
Setting ECR Comm Type
For the best security, Verosa recommends configuring the PAX terminal for Ethernet and SSL/TLS communication. In order to do this, you will need to follow the following steps:
- Press the "F" Key and "1" simultaneously to access the menu
(If prompted for a password, enter the date in "MMDDYYYY" format . if this is incorrect, consult your Merchant Services provider) - Navigate to the second screen and press Communication Options. (Enter the same password again)
- Navigate to the second screen and press ECR Comm Type.
- Select 4-Ethernet.
- Press the green button to confirm Port 10009.
- Select 3-SSL/TLS.
- Press the red button until you reach the PAX screen.
Setting IP Address
The Device must be configured with a valid IP address. There are two main ways to do this either with a Static IP or by DHCP.
DHCP
This method is recommended if you are unfamiliar with static IP addresses or need to quickly fix a connection issue with the terminal. In order to set the terminal to DHCP, you will need to perform the following steps:
- Press the "F" Key and "1" simultaneously to access the menu
(If prompted for a password, enter the date in "MMDDYYYY" format . if this is incorrect, consult your Merchant Services provider) - Navigate to the second screen and press Communication Options. (Enter the same password again)
- Navigate to the second screen and press LAN Parameters.
- Select LAN Type.
- Select 1-DHCP
- Press the red button until you reach the Main Menu screen
- Return to LAN Parameters
- Select IP Address
- The current IP Address will display on the screen. Press the green button when finished, then press the red button to return to the PAX screen
Static
This method is preferred it most cases, as it assigns a permanent IP address to the terminal, but requires some networking background to manually configure a valid static IP address. If you are unfamiliar with setting a manual static IP, refer to your IT. You will need to perform the following steps:
- Press the "F" Key and "1" simultaneously to access the menu
(If prompted for a password, enter the date in "MMDDYYYY" format . if this is incorrect, consult your Merchant Services provider) - Navigate to the second screen and press Communication Options. (Enter the same password again)
- Navigate to the second screen and press LAN Parameters.
- Select LAN Type.
- Select 2-Static
- Back on the LAN Parameters Screen, you will need to set the parameters for the IP Address, DNS IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway IP.
- The current IP Address will display on the screen. Press the green button when finished, then press the red button to return to the PAX screen.
