Most recent versions of QuickBooks Point of Sale are compatible with our software.
Below is a list of requirements compatible software must meet:
1. Must be the Point of Sale version of QuickBooks
QuickBooks Point of Sale has a few different product names (Basic, Pro, Multi-Store, etc.), as well as a few different versions (both numeric and year-based).
These products are all versions of the same QuickBooks Desktop product, with some added features here-and-there. The easiest method of determining if your version of QuickBooks is compatible is by comparing your home screen to the attached screenshot - if your interface looks similar, you're probably compatible.
Note that the following products are not compatible with this integration: QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Point of Sale for iPad (see our compatibility notes below).
Merchants using QuickBooks Desktop (Basic, Pro, Premier, Enterprise) may be interested in our Payment Terminal for QuickBooks integration.
Our developers are actively working on our QuickBooks Online integration - check back for future updates!
2. Must be version 10 or newer
Our integration is only supported on QuickBooks POS versions 10, 2013, 12, and newer. Older versions do not support the library we use (QBFC) to communicate with QuickBooks. In addition, it is outside of QuickBook's support window, and may lead you to PCI compliance issues. If you are running an older version of QuickBooks POS, it's advised you upgrade to a more recent version.
3 .Must be installed on a compatible device/operating system
For more information regarding device/operating system compatibility, refer to our server/workstation compatibility documentation.
Specific Compatibility Notes
If you are using QuickBooks Point of Sale on multiple workstations, the integration will need to be installed on each workstation that you'd like to run cards from.
Additionally, if you are using an EMV pinpad provided by your merchant services provider, we recommend one pinpad per workstation that you will be accepting EMV transactions from.
If you are using a multi-store version of QuickBooks Point of Sale, the integration will need to be installed on each workstation. Additionally, voids/referenced refunds will not be able to be processed from a location other than where the transaction was initially processed, as each physical location will have a different merchant account. Consult with your merchant services provider for more information.
